Werner Müller (biologist)

Werner Müller (* 1956 in Ratingen ) is a German biologist . From 2006 to 2018 he was a full professor at the University of Manchester in England and studied the function and development of the immune system . He retired on August 1, 2018 and has been a project manager at Miltenyi Biotec since then .

Life

Müller worked from 1980 to 2000 at the Institute for Genetics at the University of Cologne . From 2000 to 2008 he headed the department for experimental immunology at the Helmholtz Center for Infection Research in Braunschweig .

Around 160 scientific papers with his name are listed in the Citation Index . These have been cited over 15,000 times. Werner Müller's Hirsch index is 57. In 2015 he was elected to the Academia Europaea .
