Werner Nienhüser

Werner Nienhüser (* 1953 in Preußisch Oldendorf ) is a German economist and professor for work, personnel and organization at the University of Duisburg-Essen .

Live and act

After completing secondary school and a commercial apprenticeship, Nienhüser acquired the university entrance qualification on the second educational path . From 1977 to 1982 he studied business administration at the University of Paderborn . In 1983 he became a research assistant at the University of Mannheim and in 1985 a research assistant at the University of Paderborn. After receiving his doctorate (1988), he was initially a research assistant at the University of Paderborn and then a habilitation grant from the German Research Foundation . After his habilitation (1994), the University of Konstanz appointed him professor for management of public administration at the Faculty of Public Administration . Since 1995 he has held the chair for business administration, especially work, human resources and organization, at the University of Duisburg-Essen (Essen campus).

From 2007 to 2017 he was an elected member of the employee bench of the Supervisory Board of Georgsmarienhütte Holding GmbH .

Werner Nienhüser was from 2006 to 2007 chairman of the scientific commission for human resources in the Association of University Lecturers for Business Administration and from 2008 to 2012, together with Prof. Hans-Gerd Ridder, managing editor of the journal for personnel research . From 2011 to 2017, Nienhüser was a board member of the German Industrial Relations Association (GIRA) (the German section of the International Labor and Employment Relations Association (ILERA)). He is co-editor of the Industrial Relations periodical - the journal of work, organization and management . He is also a founding member of the Society for Socio-Economic Education and Science (GSÖBW) and has been a member of Attac's Scientific Advisory Board since 2014 .
