Werner Pöhlert
Werner Pöhlert (born September 30, 1928 in Hamburg ; † September 30, 2000 ) was a jazz guitarist and journalist. In 1956 he was voted the best German jazz guitarist by the Jazz Poll. At that time he was a member of the Wolfgang Lauth Quartet. He also worked as a university lecturer. One of his works is his book "Basic Harmonic ".
Pöhlert was guitarist in the "Werner Pöhlert Combo" named after him. His adoptive son Jochen Pöhlert (* 1957) studied music with him and was also the guitarist in his combo.
