Jochen Pöhlert

Jochen Pöhlert-Schulte (originally Jochen Schulte ; * 1957 ) is a music teacher and multi-instrumentalist in the field of jazz music .

Pöhlert had been taking lessons from his adoptive father Werner Pöhlert since he was ten . He gave his first concerts with a Bach program at the age of eleven. He won the federal prize in the “ Jugend musiziert ” competition.

From 1973 to 1976 he studied guitar and lute with state exams and soloist diploma (practical main subjects with Werner Pöhlert). He made CD, vinyl and radio recordings and gave concerts. Since 1971 he has been a lutenist in the "Renaissance Ensemble Pöhlert" and since 1984 jazz guitarist in the "Werner Pöhlert Combo", which he took over after the death of his adoptive father in 2000.

Pöhlert also plays saxophone, piano, vibraphone and bass in various combos . Furthermore, since 1981 he had been co-author and graphic designer for numerous publications by Werner Pöhlert. He leads numerous workshops in jazz music, works as a guest lecturer at home and abroad and also does extensive educational work with his own ensembles.

Pöhlert is the grandson of the painter Victor Schulte .
