Werner Seiss

Werner Seiss (* in the 20th century ) is a German pianist, conductor and music teacher.

Seiss studied conducting with Hans Swarowsky at the Vienna Music Academy . He continued his education in Salzburg and Rome and attended master classes from Bruno Maderna and Herbert von Karajan . He then worked as conductor of the Salzburg International Symphony Orchestra and pianist at Radio Vienna . In 1968 he became chief conductor of the Continuum Ensemble . He has appeared as a guest conductor at the Cologne Philharmonic , La Scala in Milan and at the opera houses in Bologna, Messina and Sydney and has worked as a pianist and conductor on radio and recordings.

Furthermore, Seiss taught at the TU Dortmund and directed the Dortmund Ensemble for New Music and from 1998 to 2013 the symphony orchestra of the Technical University. His students include a. Hans-Joachim Heßler , Elmar Witt , Christian Strohmann and Martin Pohl-Hesse .
