Martin Pohl-Hesse (* 1959 in Dortmund ) is a German composer, clarinetist, pianist and music teacher.

Pohl-Hesse studied clarinet with Willfried Roth-Schmidt and piano with Michael Wessel-Therhorn at the State University of Music Westphalia-Lippe . He studied composition with Tilmann Claus at the Musikhochschule Köln . He teaches music theory / ear training as well as piano and clarinet at the Musikschule Hochsauerlandkreis and is a lecturer at the Landesmusikakademie NRW and the University of Dortmund .

Together with Petra Charlotte Bleser he forms the CordaMota duo , with whom he develops thematic programs. The musical performance (two pianos / piano four hands) also includes the inclusion of several art forms, above all recitations in different languages ​​as well as improvisations on different instruments.

With Christoph Daub , Ulrich Rikus and Benedikt Koester he forms ensemble 90 , with which he has performed compositions by Mozart , Brahms , Hindemith and Messiaen in addition to his own works .

In 2009 he performed Toss my Soul with the singer Kerstin Gennet , 12 songs and scenes about love and death in the Renaissance and Baroque, based on poems by Christian Hofmann von Hofmannswaldau , Giambattista Marino and others for classical singing and saxophone.
