Werner Wöckinger

Werner Wöckinger (born March 5, 1967 in Linz ) is an Austrian author . He lives and works in Mauthausen .

Live and act

Wöckinger grew up in Mauthausen and graduated from the Realgymnasium Khevenhüllerstraße in Linz in 1985. He then studied economics for three years at the University of Linz. He has been married since 1992 and has three children. He has been a full-time paramedic since 1993. Since 2009 he has been involved with ASKÖ Mauthausen, among other things, in youth work.

Career as an author

The author went public around 1985 with occasional literary work (plays that were performed in the local environment and texts for the choir of the Mauthausen parish CPM Musica viva, which were self-published in 2002).

The first book publications were children's books, which were published between 2004 and 2008 by the Denkmayr publishing house. In 2006 he joined the regional literature group PromOtheus founded by Günther Maria Garzaner .

In 2017 Wöckinger started a series of local crime stories about the Upper Austrian inspector Oberbacher.
