Western Design Center (WDC) is a US microprocessor manufacturing and development company based in Mesa , Arizona .

The company manufactures microprocessors, microcontrollers (µCs), and other types of chips based on the 65xx developed by MOS Technology .

The company was founded in 1978 by the co-owner of the MOS Technology 6502 patent, Bill Mensch , who was previously an employee of MOS.
