Westfalia Kamen (officially: Turn- und Spielverein Westfalia Kamen 95 eV ) was a sports club from Kamen in the Unna district . The first soccer team played a year in the highest Westphalian amateur league.

history

The association was founded in 1895. In 1953 the footballers made it to the Landesliga Westfalen , the highest amateur league at the time. As a knocked-down bottom of the table , the direct relegation followed. The low point was a 9-0 defeat at Hombrucher FV 09 . After a runner-up behind Schwarz-Gelb Unna in 1955, a year later he returned to the national league, which was only fourth class after the association league was introduced at the same time . In 1958, the Westfalia rose again from the regional league before the Kamener had another one-year regional league guest game in the 1959/60 season.

Successor club Kamener SC

In 1972, Westfalia merged with the clubs Rasensport Kamen and Morgenrot Kamen to form Kamener SC , which was promoted to the state league in the first season after the merger. Relegations in 1975 and 1977 brought the club into the district league A. Between 1982 and 1986, the Kamener SC played again in the district league, before the team then commuted between district league A and B. In 2018, they were promoted to the district league A. With Harry Ellbracht , the Kamener SC produced a future professional. The former Westfalia handball players split off in 1980 as TuS Kamen and have been called TuS Westfalia Kamen since 1988 .
