Weather aid radio service

Weather Support radio service ( English meteorological aids service ) is - as defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in the Radio Regulations - a radio service for observations and studies in meteorology, including hydrography. Frequencies can be allocated for the one-sided transmission of the weather data obtained by radiosondes during ascent flights.

Frequency allocation in Germany

In addition to the German Weather Service and the military users, companies, institutions and private individuals whose tasks include the collection of meteorological data are entitled to allocation .
