The Whakawhiti Saddle is a wide, low-lying, snow-covered mountain pass in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Elizabeth Range of the Transantarctic Mountains, it lies immediately east of the Taylor Hills between the Oliver Glacier and the lower section of the Robb Glacier .
Participants in a campaign that lasted from 1959 to 1960 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition committed it for the first time and made the name. The Maori Whakawhiti means something like crossing .
