As Whistle ( Engl. : Whistle ) is called a noise which on 7 July 1997 at 7:30 am GMT by a single hydrophone in the Pacific Ocean has been registered and recorded. The location of the hydrophone is 8 ° N, 110 ° W . The location of the sound is unknown and no other hydrophone registered it. Its frequency range was between 1 and 6 Hz .

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration suspects a submarine eruption as the cause of the noise .
