White House (Anstruther)

The White House is a residential building in the Scottish town of Anstruther in the Council Area Fife . In 1972 the building was included as an individual monument in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

The White House was built in 1760. The surrounding buildings also date from the 18th century and have been linked to the White House in more recent times. The residential building is near the Firth-of-Forth- Ufer on the southern edge of Anstruther. The Dreel Burn joins the Firth of Forth directly across the road . Behind it are the port facilities of Anstruthers. The Anstruther Wester Parish Church is not far from Dreel Burn. The east-facing main facade of the two-story residential building is not completely symmetrical, but about four axes wide. Its eponymous white facades are plastered with Harl , with borders being contrasted in color. The facade closes with a curved oneGable . The final gables of the slate-covered gable roof are designed as a stepped gable .
