Wichard is a German male given name and, in addition to the different spellings Wichart, Wichert etc., is also a family name. A feminine form Wicharda , formed by analogy with Richarda <Richard , is not in use.
Origin and meaning
The name Wichard comes from Old High German and consists of the roots wîk = fight and harti = hard, strong. It means something like the one who is strong in a fight (compare Wiegand and Richard )
