Widsitsch

The citizens' movement Vidsich (or simply Vidsich , Ukr. Відсіч - "resistance") is a Ukrainian citizen movement, in response to the regime of Viktor Yanukovych emerged and the anti-Ukrainian trends associated with it. Members of earlier resistance movements (Revolution on Granite, the Ukraine Without Kuchma Movement , Citizens Committee For Truth ! , Citizens Campaign Pora! Etc.) and their supporters took part in the founding of Widsitsch .

Principles of movement

  • Nonviolence. Nonviolent resistance is used as the most effective method of struggle (not to be confused with pacifism).
  • Lack of formal guides and rotation. Every action or campaign has its coordinators, but the movement as a whole does not have a single leader to direct from above; all decisions are made through debates between activists. The cells have equal rights and communication between them takes place on an equal footing.
  • Openness. There are no secrets from the outside world with “Widsitsch”. Widsitsch protects certain information from dissemination (such as passwords or personal information of the activists). But information about the position and activity of the movement is available to everyone.
  • Non-partisanship. The citizens' movement Widsitsch does not work for any political force. Members of a party can be von Widsitsch activists, but at Widsitsch they do not represent the interests of their parties.
  • Consensus principle . It is to seek solutions that everyone agrees to.
  • Willingness to make sacrifices. Nobody can benefit from their participation in Widsitsch, for example from the fruits of the movement. Rather, all von Widsitsch activists have to sacrifice something for the common cause (time, effort, money, etc.).
  • Copyleft . Everyone does what he is ready to do and does not ask for anything for himself. Everything that an activist does at Widsitsch does not become his property, but that of Widsitsch and human civilization. Nobody has the right to demand recognition or privileges for what they have done.
