Wiebke Loosen (* 1966 ) is a German communication scientist .

Career

Wiebke Loosen studied communication science at the University of Münster. She worked as a research assistant and assistant in Münster and moved to the University of Hamburg in 2000 . In 2006/2007 she represented the professorship for communication science with a focus on online communication and communicator research at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 2010 Loosen completed his habilitation on the subject of "Transformations in Journalism and Journalism Research" at the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg. In the same year she started as a research assistant at the Hans Bredow Institute . In 2015 she was visiting professor for journalism research atInstitute for Communication Science at the University of Münster.

Loosen's research focuses on journalism research, the investigation of online communication and methods of empirical communication research.

Memberships and engagement

Wiebke Loosen is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Academy for Journalism and co-editor of the series “Aktuell. Studies on Journalism ” at Nomos Verlag . She is also part of the editorial team of the journal Medien & Kommunikationwissenschaft , which is also published by Nomos Verlag.
