Vienna police reform

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Vienna police reform was a reform of the guards and security administration carried out at the beginning of 2002 under Interior Minister Strasser within the sphere of action of the Vienna Federal Police Directorate. The main features were the reduction in the number of commissariats and high-security command posts. Was there previously in each of the twenty-three Viennese municipal districts , a district police station , a security guard district department and a criminal division , they were subsequently to and from fourteen police stations and security guard area departments and five criminal police stations combined.

The division of the municipal districts is based on the workload, the population and the area. The Viennese police reform should not be confused with the amalgamation of the Federal Gendarmerie , Federal Security Guard Corps and Criminal Police Corps in 2005 as part of the team04 reform.
