Viktor Jakymowytsch Iwanow ( Ukrainian Віктор Якимович Іванов , Russian Виктор Акимович Иванов Viktor Akimowitsch Iwanow ; born February 6, 1921 in Mykolaiv , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian shipbuilding engineer .

Life

Viktor Ivanov was drafted into the Red Army in 1939 and took part in World War II as a soldier . From 1943 on he was a member of the CPSU ( b ). After the war, he graduated from the Mykolaiv Shipbuilding Institute in 1953. From 1956 to 1991 he worked as a senior engineer in the technical department of the central design office “Chornomorsudnoproekt”, where in 1958 he founded the department for art models. In 1959 he developed and implemented for the first time in the field of shipbuilding an extensive method for the interior design of ships and introduced the practice of artistic and architectural models of ship types. With regard to the establishment of the Museum of Shipbuilding and Fleet in Mykolaiv , he led studies on the history of sailing ships and shipbuilding from the 18th to the 20th century. His team collected valuable historical material and model builders created 22 ship models from different eras under his guidance. In 1981 he received the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR for his help in founding the museum in Mykolaiv with the Taras Shevchenko Prize .
