Wiktorija Walerijiwna Poljowa ( Ukrainian Вікторія Валеріївна Польова , Russian Виктория Валерьевна Полевая Viktoriya Valerevna Polewaja , internationally used name Victoria Poleva * 11. September 1962 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian composer.

Life

Viktorija Poljowa was born in Kiev as the daughter of the composer Valerij Poljowyj ( Валерій Петрович Польовий ; 1927–1986). She graduated from the National Music Academy of Ukraine Peter Tchaikovsky in 1989 . From 1990 to 1998 she was a lecturer in the composition department and from 2000 to 2005 she was employed in the music and information technology department of the National Music Academy. Since 1992 she has been a member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine.

She has been creative since 2005. In 2009 and 2010 she was the curator for academic music programs at the Gogolfest Contemporary Art Festival .

Viktorija Polyova works in symphonic, choral and chamber music genres. A significant period of her creativity is associated with the study and embodiment of liturgical texts in music. Her compositions are performed at festivals of contemporary music in Russia, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Italy, France, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, USA, Peru and Chile.
