The Saarbrücken wildlife park is the wildlife park of the Saarland capital Saarbrücken . It is located in the St. Johann forest on the Meerwiesertalweg opposite the Hermann-Neuberger-Sportschule .
history
The wildlife park was founded in 1929 with 12 animals. At the beginning of the war in 1939 the park was closed and the animals were released into nature. In 1956 the park was re-established on an area of nine hectares. In the following years the wildlife park was changed and enlarged. In 2009 new orientation boards were created.

In addition to the animals, there is a wood and stone exhibition, the Uhu pavilion restaurant and playable forest instruments .
