Wild boar meat is the meat of wild boar that the huntable mammals ( wild boar belong). Wild boar meat is dark red and is described as very juicy and aromatic. The meat of the young animal, the so-called rookie , is preferred to the defectors and older animals, the younger the more tender it is. The meat of older animals must be left hanging and pickling for 2 to 3 days. Young wild boar meat is fried and treated like pork .
