Willi Depenau
Wilhelm 'Willi' Depenau (born April 3, 1884 in Düren , † August 26, 1952 in Berlin ) was a German set designer and film architect .
Life
After completing his technical training, Depenau had been artistically active at the theater for a long time before he first carried out the decorations for a cinema production in 1924. Until 1932, however, he remained primarily committed to the stage and worked as a set designer or head of equipment, for example at the Komische Oper Berlin .
From 1932 Depenau worked regularly for film , initially for several Anny Ondra - Carl Lamac productions, and later for other companies. After the Second World War he made, mostly in an executive role, a number of secondary films for DEFA until his retirement in 1950. He died two years later.
