Wilhelm Dornewaß
Wilhelm Dornewaß ( June 6, 1819 in Magdeburg - June 6, 1896 in Darmstadt ) was a German dancer and theater actor .
Life
With the company of the court ballet master Karl Tescher, Dornewaß undertook major tours to Sweden, Finland, Russia, Holland, London, Paris etc. and in 1839 joined the Hofbühne association in Darmstadt, to which he belonged until 1881 (also acting as an actor since 1842) . He was one of the most admired grotesque dancers of his time. He died on his 77th birthday.
His son was the opera singer Otto Dornewaß .
