Life

Dornewaß, son of the dancer and actor Wilhelm Dornewaß , did not put any obstacles in the way of his career choice. Accordingly, he was hired as a trainee at the Hoftheater Darmstadt , but did not forget to cultivate his voice. He took lessons from court singer Josef Herger , court conductor Jato and later from FM Dale-Aste (Dall'Aste?).

In 1860 he made his debut at the Freiburg Theater as "Usbeck" in Maurer und Schlosser . There, as later in Lübeck, Rostock, Mainz and Dessau, he worked as an opera singer and actor, but his focus was on the per. In 1865 he was committed to the Wiesbaden Court Theater, where he was first given the direction and in 1889 also the upper direction of the opera.

On June 14, 1905, he celebrated his 40th service anniversary in Wiesbaden. Shortly afterwards he died.
