Sulfur nitrides

The Schwefelnitride provide a number of known sulfur - nitrogen compounds are:

• Pentasulfur hexanitride , S ₅ N ₆
• Tetrasulphur tetranitride , S ₄ N ₄
• Tetrasulfur dinitride , S ₄ N ₂
• Disulfur dinitride , S ₂ N ₂
• Oligosulfur dinitrides , S _x N ₂ with x = 11, 15, 16, 17, 19
• Polythiazyl , (SN) _x

In addition, the following are known to be unstable species:

• Monosulfur dinitride , SN ₂ (as a compound analogous to nitrous oxide , N ₂ O)
• Monosulfur mononitride , SN (as a compound analogous to nitrogen monoxide , NO)
• Disulfur mononitride , S ₂ N, (as a compound analogous to nitrogen dioxide , NO ₂ ).

The sulfur imides and halogenated sulfur nitrides can be derived from the sulfur nitrides. There are also a number of sulfur nitride cations and anions.
