Sulfur nitrides
The Schwefelnitride provide a number of known sulfur - nitrogen compounds are:
- Pentasulfur hexanitride , S 5 N 6
- Tetrasulphur tetranitride , S 4 N 4
- Tetrasulfur dinitride , S 4 N 2
- Disulfur dinitride , S 2 N 2
- Oligosulfur dinitrides , S x N 2 with x = 11, 15, 16, 17, 19
- Polythiazyl , (SN) x
In addition, the following are known to be unstable species:
- Monosulfur dinitride , SN 2 (as a compound analogous to nitrous oxide , N 2 O)
- Monosulfur mononitride , SN (as a compound analogous to nitrogen monoxide , NO)
- Disulfur mononitride , S 2 N, (as a compound analogous to nitrogen dioxide , NO 2 ).
The sulfur imides and halogenated sulfur nitrides can be derived from the sulfur nitrides. There are also a number of sulfur nitride cations and anions.
