Oligosulfur dinitrides
Oligosulfur dinitrides are inorganic chemical compounds of sulfur from the group of covalent nitrides . In addition to tetrasulfur tetranitride , disulfur dinitride , tetrasulfur dinitride , monosulfur mononitride , pentasulfur hexanitride and polymeric polythiazyl (SN) x, the compounds belong to the group of sulfur-nitrogen compounds or sulfur nitrides . The general empirical formula is S x N 2 , whereby compounds with a sulfur content with x = 11, 15, 16, 17, 19 are known.
Surname | formula | CAS number | Melting point | Remarks |
---|---|---|---|---|
Undecasulfur dinitride | S 11 N 2 | 25417-75-8 | 150 ° C | |
Pentadeca sulfur dinitride | S 15 N 2 | 11128-69-1 | 137 ° C | yellow solid |
Hexadecasulfur dinitride | S 16 N 2 | 11128-70-4 | 122 ° C | yellow solid |
Heptadecasulfur dinitride | S 17 N 2 | 31411-38-8 | 97 ° C | |
Nonadeca sulfur dinitride | S 19 N 2 | 31411-37-7 |
The oligosulfur dinitrides S x N 2 with x = 15, 16, 17, 19 result from the reaction of heptasulfurimide S 7 NH with the corresponding sulfur dichlorides S n Cl 2 with n = 1, 2, 3, 5. A basic structure results S 7 N – S n –NS 7 , where two S 7 N ring structures are connected via one, two, three and five sulfur atoms, respectively.
The undecasulfur dinitride S 11 N 2 results from the reaction of 1,3-hexasulfurdiimide with pentasulfur dichloride. This results in a bicyclic structure bridged by the nitrogen atoms .
