Wilhelm François

Wilhelm François (born December 22, 1878 in Groß Lichterfelde , Berlin; † July 20, 1955 in Magdeburg ) was a German craftsman and politician (economic party).

François attended preparatory and later secondary school in Magdeburg. After learning the locksmith's trade , he was a master owner of a locksmith's shop from 1902. After the First World War , François began to get involved in the Reichspartei des Deutschen Mittelstandes (Economic Party ). For this he was a member of the Saxon state parliament from 1925 to 1929 and of the Reichstag in Berlin from 1928 to 1932. In the latter, he represented constituency 10 (Magdeburg). From April to September 1931 he served as vice chairman of his party. He was also a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Saxony .

Since 1928, François also served as master locksmith in Magdeburg, that is, as chairman of the locksmith's guild of the city of Magdeburg and its guild committee. After the National Socialist seizure of power in 1933, he was ousted from the position of chief master of the locksmith's guild.
