Wilhelm Hungar
Wilhelm Hungar ( November 10, 1817 in Berlin - August 1, 1891 in Lauterberg am Harz ) was a German theater actor and theater manager .
Life
Hungar's talent for the theater was recognized by the tragedian Auguste Crelinger , who also encouraged the young man to devote himself to the stage. On April 17, 1837, Hungar tried his hand at "General Aldringer" in the play The Grave Bride for the first time in Luckau.
He then joined the Faller Society, with which he toured the Liegnitz and Frankfurt administrative districts and finally came to Magdeburg in 1846 as the first character actor after long cross and crusades. He stayed there until 1848, then worked for a year, first as an actor, then for a year as director of the Stadttheater in Nuremberg, and on September 3, 1849, as "Richelieu" in Anna von Österreich, he first appeared on the stage of the Thaliatheater in Hamburg With the exception of the years 1854 to 1857, which he spent at the Karltheater in Vienna, he remained at art institutes until 1887.
This artist retired completely from stage life in 1888 and died on August 1, 1891.
