Wilhelm Mader

Wilhelm Mader (born June 12, 1914 in Bieber ; † August 25, 1983 in Oldenburg ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1965 to 1978 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

Mader attended elementary school and high school and then worked in his father's craft business. In 1934 he joined the Prussian police. He was there until he was transferred to the Wehrmacht in 1936. After his release at the end of the Second World War in 1945, he was employed again by the police in Oldenburg. Since 1961 he was a member of the city council of Oldenburg and was a member of several council committees. Since 1964 Mader was Senator of the city of Oldenburg. Mader was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for four terms. He moved into the fifth on March 2, 1965 and left the eighth on June 20, 1978. Mader was from 1974 to 1978 chairman of the penal system subcommittee of the Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs.

In 1973 Mader was awarded the Order of Merit, First Class, of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his services.
