Hermann Maatmann

Hermann Maatmann (born February 15, 1925 in Rheine ; † January 17, 2011 in Wilsum ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Maatmann attended elementary school in Wilsum and then completed a bank apprenticeship with a final exam. From 1946 to 1961 he worked as a bank clerk. From 1961 he continued to run his parents' farm in Wilsum.

He became a member of the CDU in 1963 . From 1961 he was councilor and mayor of the municipality of Wilsum and from 1964 a member of the district council, where he took over the chairmanship of the CDU district parliamentary group from 1968.

From 1976 he was honorary district of Bentheim and 21 June 1978, he was one of three terms the parliament of Lower Saxony on. Maatmann served as Grafschafter District Administrator and Mayor of Wilsums until 1986, when he resigned from the Landtag on June 20, 1990.

Maatmann was a member of the board of directors and a member of the credit committee of Kreissparkasse Nordhorn from 1973 to 2002 ; He was chairman of the board of directors for five years and deputy chairman for 16 years. He was also a member of the supervisory board of Emsland GmbH Meppen and chairman of the district and city hospital in Nordhorn .

Maatmann was active on the local political level until autumn 1996. He was also employed as a registrar in Wilsum and Uelsen from 1970 to 1996 , for which he was honored by the municipality of Uelsen in early 1997.

After leaving the district council, Maatmann was appointed honorary district administrator of the Grafschaft Bentheim district in 1996. He was also appointed honorary councilor and honorary member of the Uelsen municipality and honorary councilor of the municipality of Wilsum. For his political commitment he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 1984 and the Cross of Merit 1st Class in 1993.
