Wilhelm Mauer (resistance fighter)

Wilhelm Mauer (born January 26, 1896 in Vienna ; † July 14, 1943 there ) was an Austrian electrician assistant and resistance fighter against the Nazi regime . He was sentenced to death by the Nazi judiciary and beheaded in the Vienna Regional Court .

Life

Mauer was an electrician assistant and main cashier in the communist cell in the Siemens-Schuckert works in Vienna . He was arrested on March 3, 1942, sentenced to death by the People's Court on February 26, 1943 for “preparation for high treason ” and executed with the guillotine on July 14 of the same year .

Commemoration

His name can be found on the plaque in the former execution room of the Vienna Regional Court .
