Wilhelm Mayfeld

Wilhelm Mayfeld (born January 9, 1913 in Bövinghausen , Dortmund district; † February 15, 2006 ) was a German SPD politician .

education and profession

Wilhelm Mayfeld graduated from elementary school and secondary school, where he graduated from high school. Then he attended the college for teacher training in Dortmund. Subsequently he was a teacher in East Prussia and Castrop-Rauxel. He worked as a main teacher, then as rector and passed the examination for teaching at secondary schools. From 1956 he was rector in Castrop-Rauxel.

Wilhelm Mayfeld was a member of the SPD from 1954. In 1956 he became chairman of the SPD in the Castrop-Rauxel local association. In 1946 he was a co-founder of the Education and Science Union and its board member until 1956. In the same year he was elected city councilor in Castrop-Rauxel, where he acted as parliamentary group chairman from 1963.

Wilhelm Mayfeld was directly elected member of the 6th and 7th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia for constituency 108 Castrop-Rauxel from July 25, 1966 to May 27, 1975 .
