Wilhelm Rath (writer)
Wilhelm Rath (born May 14, 1897 in Berlin ; † January 13, 1973 in Wolfsberg , Austria ) was a German biodynamic farmer and author. His research on German mysticism and the Chartres School led to numerous publications on the Friends of God and the "Friends of God from the Oberland", Alanus from Insulis , Bernardus Silvestris and Johannes von Hildesheim .
Life
After graduating from high school in 1914, he registered for military service and was quartered as a prisoner of war in England, where he got to know anthroposophy . After the war, he contacted Rudolf Steiner and from 1935 worked as a farmer in Austria.
Together with Ernst Lehrs , he contributed significantly to the organization of the educational youth course in 1922 and thereby to the establishment of an esoteric youth group with the help of Rudolf Steiner.
