from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wilhelm Runte (born December 22, 1898 in Soest ; † February 8, 1977 there ) was a German politician . From 1952 to 1956 he was mayor of the Westphalian district town of Soest.

Runte belonged to the FDP , which ran for the first time in the local elections on November 16, 1952 and won the election with nine seats just ahead of the SPD (also nine seats) and the CDU (seven seats).

Wilhelm Runte is thus the only post-war Mayor of Soest who did not belong to either of the two major people's parties.
