Wilhelm Ruppert

Wilhelm Ruppert (* 1888 ; † February 4, 1965 ) was a German entrepreneur and pioneer in the development of plastic products .

After the First World War, he founded the electrical insulation industry Wahn Wilhelm Ruppert in Wahn in 1919 . He was one of the first to produce self-adhesive plastic films and tapes. He developed products such as layer-free insulation materials. In 1961 he passed the management of the company to his son Wilhelm Ruppert jr. further.

The company existed from 1919 to March 31, 1973 on the site of the former "Zum Stern" brewery (Immendorfsche Landbrauerei) and comprised a licensed varnish and varnish boiler, a gas plant, an agitator, a locksmith's shop, chimney, box carpentry, steam boiler and an infirmary with a company doctor and nurse.

In 1962 he was named Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Eugène Cardinal Tisserant and invested in Cologne Cathedral on December 15, 1962 by Lorenz Jaeger , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy .
