Wilhelm Schindler (Manager)

Wilhelm Schindler (born September 29, 1921 in Munich ; † January 17, 2011 ) was a German commercial entrepreneur and manager as well as a politician.

Life

After Schindler graduated from the new Realgymnasium in Munich, he joined the Munich city administration in 1938. During the Second World War, he served in the military for five years and then spent three years in captivity. After his release he worked as an independent grocery retailer from 1948 to 1959. At EDEKA wholesale Munich eGmbH he was a member of the supervisory board, honorary board member and, from 1959, a managing member of the board of directors. From 1962 to 1977 he was its director. From 1964 to 1981 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate . In this role he was also an advisory board member at the State Office for Data Processing . Most recently he lived in Rottach-Egern .
