Wilhelm Schneider (chemist, 1882)

Wilhelm Schneider (born November 13, 1882 in St. Petersburg , † 1939 ) was a German chemist. His father was the director of what was then Europe's largest shoe factory, Heinrich Schneider .

He received his doctorate as Dr. phil. and was Professor of Chemistry at the University of Jena from 1914 until his death in 1939 . From 1910 he headed the Department of Organic Chemistry at the Chemical Institute there - initially as a private lecturer , later as an adjunct professor, from 1933 as a full professor .
