Wilhelm Siering

Wilhelm Siering (born March 28, 1875 in Berlin ; † 1945 ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Siering was born the son of a master blacksmith. After graduating from elementary school in Berlin in 1889, he completed an apprenticeship as a file cutter , which he completed in 1892 with the assistant test. He then worked as a blacksmith's assistant until 1904. He was involved in trade unions and from 1904 to 1919 was a union official in the Association of Blacksmiths and in the German Metal Workers' Association (DMV). In 1920/21 he was a member of the Prussian Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Siering was a member of the Prussian Constituent Assembly from 1919 to 1921 and was then a member of the Prussian Landtag until 1932 .

Public offices

Siering served from November 7, 1921 to February 18, 1925 as Prussian State Minister for Trade and Industry in the state government led by Prime Minister Otto Braun . From 1926 to 1932 he was district administrator for the Osthavelland district .
