Wilhelm Sigmund (born November 5, 1903 in Vienna , † June 17, 1982 in Scheibbs ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and electrical mechanic. From 1954 to 1969, Sigmund was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Sigmund attended elementary and community school and initially worked as an agricultural worker. He then completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith, was unemployed in 1923 and subsequently found work in Romania. In 1924 he switched to the Vienna municipality and worked in the hydropower plant. Sigmund was unemployed again after the Social Democratic Party was banned between 1934 and 1938 and was arrested, punished and charged with high treason several times. From 1938 he was employed by the electrical works of the City of Vienna.

Sigmund was mayor of Gresten between 1945 and 1975 and also held the office of SPÖ district party chairman. He represented the SPÖ from December 12, 1945 to November 20, 1969 in the Lower Austrian state parliament and was made an honorary citizen of Gresten. Between September 30, 1965 and November 20, 1969 he was 2nd President of the State Parliament.
