Wilhelm Steinhilber

Wilhelm Steinhilber (born November 12, 1892 in Neuffen ; † July 27, 1977 ) was a German researcher of local history. In addition to numerous articles, he also published a number of monographic works on the history of the city of Heilbronn .

Life

Steinhilber came to Heilbronn from Esslingen , where he was managing director and administrative director of AOK Heilbronn from May 1, 1928 to 1945 . From April 1945 to November 30, 1957 he was administrative director of the municipal hospitals and then retired .

In his spare time and in retirement, Steinhilber did research on local history. In the yearbooks of the Heilbronn Historical Society and in Swabia and Franconia , the local history supplement of the Heilbronner Voice daily , he published numerous articles on Heilbronn's history. He also wrote several monographs on topics of the city's history, which appeared in series of publications by the Heilbronn City Archives .

Awards

In 1952 Wilhelm Steinhilber received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon. It was handed over at the inauguration ceremony of the new municipal hospital on Jägerhausstrasse, which had been converted from a Wehrmacht hospital.
