Wilhelm Ferdinand Gustav Steinsdorff (born November 2, 1864 in Berlin , † December 14, 1938 in Zittau ) was a German politician (DDP).

Live and act

After attending Chrandorff's higher boys' school in Berlin, Steinsdorff completed a four-year apprenticeship as a typesetter in Berlin. He made himself familiar with the publishing book trade through a two-year practical assistant job as an employee. During this time, Steinsdorff also edited various magazines as a part-time job. Inspired by this activity, he finally turned entirely to journalism : In this field he worked first as a freelance daily writer, then as an editor. In 1896, Steindorff joined the editorial team of the Zittauer Morgenzeitung , of which he became editor-in-chief in 1904. In 1908 he finally became the owner of the publishing house and the printing works for the morning newspaper.

In January 1919 Steinsdorff was elected to the Weimar National Assembly as a candidate of the German Democratic Party (DDP) for constituency 28 (1st Saxony) , to which he belonged until the first Reichstag of the Weimar Republic met in July 1920.
