Wilhelm Thierkopf

Wilhelm Thierkopf (born February 5, 1860 in Magdeburg ; † April 11, 1938 there ) was a German politician ( DVP ).

Life and work

After attending the citizens' school in Magdeburg, Thierkopf completed an apprenticeship as a cooper , which he completed with a journeyman's examination. He passed the master craftsman's examination, then worked as a master cooper in his hometown and was ultimately appointed head master of the local cooper's guild. From 1900 he was a member of the Magdeburg Chamber of Crafts and was elected chairman in 1907. In the 1920s he was a member of the Provisional Reich Economic Council .

Thierkopf was elected to the German Reichstag in the Reichstag elections in May 1924 , to which he belonged until his resignation on July 31, 1924. In parliament he represented the constituency of Magdeburg.
