Wilhelm Wehren

Wilhelm Wehren (born August 14, 1914 at Voeskenshof ; † February 18, 1999 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Wehren, a farmer by profession, was the mayor of the Kervenheim office based in Winnekendonk , which was integrated into the town of Kevelaer in 1969 as part of the municipal reorganization . From September 1946 he was chairman of the local association of the CDU Kervenheim, and in July 1948 a negotiating partner for the settlement of three companies that were important for regional development in Winnekendonk and Schravelen. He also campaigned for housing, the reconstruction of the largely destroyed Winnekendonk Church, the construction of a kindergarten and a senior citizens' home in the communities of Winnekendonk and Kervenheim, which were badly hit by the war. Wilhelm Wehren and its director August Wormland paved the way for the new school building, which was consecrated in Winnekendonk on October 1, 1949 and opened.

From 1950 to 1970 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for what was then the district of Geldern. He was a participant in the Federal Assembly which on July 17, 1954 re-elected Theodor Heuss , FDP , as Federal President . In 1970, Willi Weyer, Minister of the Interior of North Rhine-Westphalia, presented Wilhelm Wehren with the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in recognition of his achievements .
