Wilhelm von Wendt (* unknown, middle of the 16th century; † unknown) was canon in Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Wilhelm von Wendt came from the Westphalian noble family von Wendt and was the son of Franz von Wendt and his wife Anna von Oer zu Nottbeck, who married in 1532. His brother Franz († 1604) was married to Klara von Ketteler zu Hovestadt. They were the parents of the later cathedral canon Dietrich von Wendt .

Act

On July 17, 1595 Wilhelm came to presentation by the Turnar Bernhard von Westerholt for waiver of the canon Johann von Westerholt into possession of a Münster Dompräbende . There were serious concerns about this because he had been ordained in Cologne without a discharge certificate . With the revolt to the families Wendt, Oer, Ketteler and Wylich he was emancipated on July 18, 1595. On April 3, 1608, Wilhelm renounced his benefice. There is no information about his further life.
