Dietrich von Wendt

Dietrich von Wendt (* in the 16th century; † in the 17th century) was canon in Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Dietrich von Wendt came from the Westphalian noble family von Wendt and was the son of Franz von Wendt zu Crassenstein († 1604) and his wife Klara von Ketteler zu Hovestadt. She was an heir and brought the Crassenstein Castle into the possession of the von Wendt family through her marriage. Dietrich's uncle Wilhelm von Wendt was canon in Münster from 1595 to 1608.

Act

On October 22, 1596 Dietrich took over after presentation by the Domscholaster Heinrich Droste zu Vischering the Dompräbende in possession, between the canon Johann Torck and Nicholas of Zerssen was moot. He was emancipated the following day with the revolt to the Wendt, Ketteler, Oer and Wylich families . A short time later he asked the cathedral chapter for a study visit to Rome and for a grant from the Raesfeld Foundation. His request was granted. In July 1597 Dietrich was a student in Rome. It has not been proven whether he has completed a degree. On December 9, 1606 , he renounced the turnar . There is no evidence of his further life.
