Will Grayburn Moore

Will Grayburn Moore (born July 24, 1905 in Dartford , † January 27, 1978 in Oxford ) was a British Romance studies and literary scholar .

Life

Moore studied at Magdalen College , Oxford. He received his doctorate in 1930 from the University of Strasbourg with the thesis La Réforme allemande et la littérature française. Recherches sur la notoriété de Luther en France (Strasbourg 1930). From 1931 to 1933 he was Assistant Lecturer in Manchester, from 1934 to 1972 he taught in Oxford as a Fellow of St John's College (Oxford) , most recently as Professor (Reader) of French literature.
