Willem Tanke

Willem Tanke (* 1959 ) is a Dutch organist and university professor.

Live and act

Tanke studied organ and improvisation with Jan Welmers in Utrecht . In 1985 he completed his studies with diplomas for organ, music theory and improvisation. From 1988 to 2000 he taught as a professor at the University of Utrecht. He is currently professor of theory and improvisation in Rotterdam . He was  awarded a Diplôme de médaille d'argent by the Société académique Arts-Sciences-Lettres in Paris for his achievements . Tanke maintains the organ playing without organ shoes.
