Willi Kaltschmitt Luján (born August 13, 1939 ) is a Guatemalan diplomat , businessman and sports official.

Professional life

Willi Kaltschmitt Luján worked in various business areas. He was director of a communications company. For the Guatemalan Chamber of Industry he was President of the Plant Protection Association. He was President of the Foreign Trade Commission of FUNDESA, a Guatemalan trade development foundation.

In 1998 he was sent to Cuba as Guatemalan ambassador . Kaltschmitt Luján stayed in Havana until 2000 . On his return he became the tourism representative of the President of Guatemala.

Athletic career

Willi Kaltschmitt Luján was an active baseball player in Guatemala Major League Baseball. For the Guatemalan boxing sport, he participated as a delegation member in several Olympic Games as well as regional and world championships.

Sports administration

Kaltschmitt Luján was President of the Guatemalan NOK from 1980 to 1992. Since 1993 he has been Vice President of the Pan American Sports Organization . He is also the President of the Ethics Commission of the Taekwondo World Association .

In 1988 he was elected an IOC member and has served on various commissions since then. He has been a board member of the IOC since 2012.
