Willibald "Willi" Klein (born February 18, 1927 in Oberstdorf ; † November 6, 1997 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria ) was a German ski racer .

Klein, nicknamed "Gummi" because of his mobility, achieved his first major success when he won the German slalom championship in 1950 . This was the first time that an athlete from Oberstdorf and from the Allgäu in general won this title. With two further successes at German championships - in 1952 he won both the downhill and the combined - Klein is still one of the most successful athletes at SC Oberstdorf .

In 1952 , German athletes were allowed to take part in the Olympic Games again for the first time after the Second World War and Willi Klein was able to take sixteenth place in Oslo in both downhill and slalom. In the giant slalom he missed qualifying for the final run as 32nd of the first run. The Olympic Games were the last highlight of Klein's career. After his active career, he took over a company in Oberstdorf that manufactured heating and sanitary systems, and finally died in autumn 1997 while on a golf holiday in Gran Canaria .
