Willi Knappe

Willi Knappe (* 1928 / 1929 ) is a German sports scientists and university teachers .

Life

Knappe was involved in the creation of training plans for athletics in the 1950s , which were published by the Athletics Section of the German Democratic Republic . He was a track and field trainer at SV unit Eisenach.

At the end of the 1950s, he moved from Eisenach to the sports institute of the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald , where he worked as a university lecturer. In 1965 he completed his doctoral thesis in Greifswald (subject: "Investigations into the course of six to ten year old schoolchildren under the aspect of increasing performance") and in 1969 his habilitation(Topic: "On the system of planning modern physical education in lower grades"). As a result, he held a professorship there in the scientific field of methodology and did research in particular on the subject of school sports. In the first half of the 1960s he led a collective of authors that published textbooks for gymnastics in school classes. In the 1970s and 1980s he headed a research group that created curricula and teaching aids for lower-level physical education in the German Democratic Republic. In 1987 Knappe brought out the book "Sport im Hort" as the leader of an author collective.
